    Hi
Please forgive vast ignorance on my part but after I installed mru yesterday it seems to have really increased the incidence of the browser hijacker my system is infected with. It comes up almost every time now regardless of my deleting it off my "home page" bar of my ie6 tools menu. Is there any form of self-test to see if mru is working? it says it is...the site I am directed to is http://t.rack.cc/hp.php something that changes names called "cool web page" "cool search" etcetc...any help?
    Thank you
    Dan

    Hi Dan,

I'm afraid MRU Blaster is not a fighter against spyware hijackers, so it won't do anything to help you with this problem. (MRU Blaster clears usage tracks and securely deletes cookies and cache and similar things from your system, but does nothing with hijackers.)

The cool web search stuff is a pretty significant and common hijacker these days. The best way to clean it from your system is to use CWShredder, a specialized removal tool that is meant to get rid of this family of hijackers.

    Download, unzip and run: http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip

Then when you've done that, you should post a HijackThis Log following the instructions in this thread:
