    F-Secure BlackLight beta free version was updated December 27, 2007.

    The free part expires April 1, 2007.( unless they extend it again!)

    Yes, competition is always good for these firms. There was another one called
    IceSword. Does anyone have good or bad experience with that one?

    IceSword is good against some rootkits but fails against others.
    IMO at the moment after trying most of the *available* ARK tools against a wide range of rootkit based malwares have come to the opinion that RootKitUnhooker is ahead of the pack for both functionability(Diagnostic& Recovery)and the amount of RK's it can actually take down.

    That said i have'nt touched Blacklight for a while(it was'nt good then with ring0 dwelling rootkits) so i will have to give it a run out against the likes of Gromozon,Rustock to see how the latest evo's do against the current state of the art malware rootkits.
