Just curious , how much RAM does the latest F-prot build normally use on average (when idle) ?

The new Eldorado engine has definitely improved its detection rate. It will be interesting to see the results over at av-comparatives and av-test.org with the new v. 6.0.8.0. However, the new heuristics at the highest setting still need tweaking to reduce the number of fasle positives.
Just two processes; F-ProtTray.exe- 1,712K VM and FPAVServer.exe-30,896K VM on a WIN XP Pro system with 2Gb RAM installed.

Just wondering: is F-Prot programming a new release w/ much more settings?

    Best regards
    Mike

i hope f-prot can sort out their FPs, and before the next retro test.

they got more than drweb this time around, which people will say is shocking, and the new heuristics were not even tested.

i hope so, because i always like to see the smaller under-rated companys excel.

    Depends on your software mix.

I have seen very few FPs either with Avira, Dr Web or F-Prot, the so called "Kings of the FPs" on any of my machines.

neither have i blackcat, i havnt seen any with drweb 4.44 since it was released.

i had a few with the beta, but they were sorted and then thats it, my machine is FP-free.

i think the FP rates of all of them are fantastic, its another problem that is probably blown out of proportion.
