F-Prot is a small company with limited resources, that's may be the reason that they are not in-top list..

 

I wanted to chime in on this thread and validate F-Prot's stellar legacy. Ten years ago, I was a Network Engineer who's responsibility included fixing PCs in the field. A coworker of mine introduced me to their DOS based scan, and all I can say is that it was worth it's weight in gold. It found everything and anything.

I love the program so much that I purchased a Windows license a few years back, and was going to do the same recently until I encountered the setup process. It was attempting to perform some awkward update that I lost patience with. To add to the fire, I recently realized that they have licensed the BitDefender engine--an excellent choice no doubt, but why they should be licensing anything at all surprised me.

 

I'm curious as to where did you hear this? Can you give us a link?

 

I think I'm mistaken about the BitDefender engine. I apologize to F-Secure for that.

 

F-Prot maybe?
