Hi sethm1, We have discovered that Nod 32 is incompatible with the Eye-Fi Manager software. The only thing we have found that works is completely removing (uninstalling) Nod 32 from the system if you want to use an Eye-Fi Card on an XP system. Larry at Eye-Fi Support
Larry - Then what does Eye-fi suggest as a replacement for Nod 32? I have the Smart Security Suite - not the basic Anti-Virus version - so is the recommendation the same? What exactly are the incompatibilities of Eye-Fi & Nod 32? In other words, what quirky things can I expect to happen - OR not happen? Since Eye-Fi did not test with all AV products, seems that Eye-fi jumped a bit by releasing it too soon. Will Eye-Fi reimburse me for the cost of the Eset software? Seems the right thing to do.
That pretty much knocks out the two best A/V products. I was going to purchase an Eye-Fi memory card for my camera, but certainly won't give up NOD32 for it.
I won't give up Nod 32 either- But- so far this card is playing nice with my PC. The only issue I had was that I initially could not set up an account on my PC (again, I have Eset Smart Security version- anti spam ,etc so no just the basic A/V), So I set up the account on my Son's. Then went back to my PC entered my account name & password and viola (?) I was able to send a photo from my camera to my PC. OH, and my son as the free AVG version! Hmmm - mind over matter? - I say this as I have the 2 A/V's that Eye-Fi says could cause trouble though I did NOT know until after I purchased the card.
You would think they would be in more of a hurry to fix a problem. that knocks out top security programs.
It'd be interesiting to know whether disabling the firewall makes a difference. If so, please enable logging blocked connections, try to replicate the problem and then check the firewall log for details about the connection attempts that have actually been blocked.
