    For those of you who use Explorer++, there is some good news.
    After a hiatus of more than 6 years since a release, it is back in beta release development.

    Apart from being a good file manager for Windows, it is especially handy for adding to bootable media as it is truly portable and configurable as the settings file (config.xml) is contained in the same folder.

    The developer has been working hard on the new version of Explorer++ in recent times with a consistent commit history.
    This is the download page with the current beta version being 1.4.0.1748 Beta 2.

    Development build links are also available at the download page.
    The development build version that I'm currently testing is v1.4.0.1946 Dev (October 02, 2022).
    It's very quick.

    It seems a nice and handy piece of software. I'd love to see a dark mode for it.

    I don't know of any other fully portable, tabbed file manager that works with all boot media. Maybe someone will tell me of others.

    Mr. Optimism :rolleyes: , explorer++ is a great program even in English language only. I use to install my Windows systems in English.

    i have argued in #2 why i have dropped it. although i saw development its still not really usable, in special not for other languages than English - its lacking additional work. i need a reliable product, eg such xyplorer or d-opus (currently both in use, d-opus more than xy). i also dropped qdir or, one commander, and xplorer² for being useless here, although some tough products but lacking features or reliability. sorry.

    Explorer++ version 1.5.0.2444 dev (64-bit build)
    Folders auto refresh doesn't work on a WinRE scenario. I do notice it works on Windows 11 though.
    Anyone seeing this too?

    Btw, dark theme looks very nice on Windows 11.

    d-opus is been ages since operating older Windows systems. It had dropped off the radar on me. BUT XYPlorer is the ONE you can rely on. Since many Windows versions xyplorer is been a proven performer and DIGS DEEP when you need it to.

    Mr.X,

    I think we've discussed this in the past. How does one open a text file in Explorer++ when in WinRE?

    @Brian K , I don't follow you. I'm talking about folder refresh not opening txt files.
