What does Paragon want from me? When I try format empty partition, it says, it needs "exclusive access" to drive. That is absolutely empty and nothing is connected to it. There's anchor down there saying "What files prevent operation completion?", when I press it, no programs are being displayed. If anything accessed HDD, green diode would turn red. Cause that's how it does indicate "its work". What to do? Paragon Hard Disk Manager 14 Suite
Please clarify what it is you are trying to do, What operating system are you trying to run this from?
I asked already on another forum. This is just copy-paste of it. System Windows 7 Enterprise x86 I got some "funny" jokers at home, that set password on my PC as a "joke", but "funny" jokers, forgot to write password. Now I'm stuck with HDD with password on it, without any real important data. This is HDD, whose password cannot be bypassed. I decided to erase all data. I tried to access HDD, by connecting it to "external enclosure for a 2.5" hard disk". So in general, I put my HDD inside, then connect "that thing" with my another computer by USB that was included in package. I went to "Partiton Manager" from Windows. Which told me to "initialize" drive. There were two options. Whenever I choose one and pressed "Ok", I got these messages: http://s3.postimg.org/t75qgwk37/windows.png I downloaded EaseUs Partition Manager and using it, I tried to initialize it, but I got error prompt: http://s3.postimg.org/jlzlgoss3/paragon2.png And even when it didn't succeeded, program updated system information about drive. It says 465GB unused. I tried to create empty partition which I set to be 100% of drive. The following error I got: http://s3.postimg.org/3n3gagypf/easeus.png Now, I downloaded Paragon Harddisk Manager and when I tried to click on "Create Parition", without even pointing to disk. Following error prompted: http://s21.postimg.org/9lyhqxx6v/paragon.png This disk works. It was new drive, that is from laptop that is 6 months old. It only has password on it. In most cases, as so far as I see. It looks like drive is "write protected", how to disable it?
ATA password can not be removed only by the software if you do not know the password (IMHO, valid master passwords is a myth. Will be easier to find Atlantis than these passwords). You can try to guess the password, it is possible what happens in a billion years. You can contact the service center where there is the appropriate hardware then password will be removed in a few seconds.
