    Hi,

My company has created a Microsoft Word Template which contains several macros being used by a Visual Basic application.

Nod32 detects this template as "probably unknown MACRO virus" (which is obviously not the case, since we created it ourselves).

I know its possible to exclude a file in Nod32 by entering the exact path in the 'Exclusions' screen in Setup, but since this file is all over the network, in several locations, its impossible for me to add all these path's as exclusions.

So the question is: can i exclude this file just by entering the file name, "mytemplate.dot" ? If so, where can i do this.
Or can i solve this in any other way?

Thanks in advance for any help,
    David.

    Hello,

There is no way to exclude files just by their filename, a complete path has to be specified.

If you can email a copy of the Microsoft Word Template in a .ZIP or .RAR archive file protected with a password of "infected" (even though it is not) to samples@eset.sk with a Subject: of False Positive Alarm and a link to this message, ESET's virus lab can examine the file to determine why it is being reported as malicious.

Please include information such as which version of the software you are using and its virus signature database version.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky

Do not wait for the answer from ESET but test it yourself when NOD32 was updated with the latest version.
