    This is because the full scan also does a memory scan. Ever ran a memory scan in the 3.0? It results in absolutely the same "memory usage" and there is nothing wrong with it and also nothing which can be done to avoid it. Also I highly doubt you experienced any performance issues after the scan, in fact it should be even FASTER ;) It's just a psychological thing as the numbers are higher... Btw. every memory scanner out there causes this behaviour... :)

    You're probably right, fish. It is a much lower number for me before doing a mem scan, but whether the number is high or low, my machine has never "felt" slow or like it's draging because of ewido. In fact, it feels faster than when I took off ewido to trial Counterspy a few weeks ago.

    Thanks, Peter! But what about the guard? It went from 13 (3.0) to 24MB (3.5)...

    Pete, I am getting constant lockups on my system when scanning...whether it is registry scan, fast or full...had to do a lot of reboots.

    In v3 Ewido and Prevx together would make file access slow. That has definitely improved, but now some things load up very slow with the two of them on. I can disable Prevx and everything is speedy, but the two running together seem to cause probs. A couple examples are zip genius and the way the tabs in firefox fade in, they seem to cause 100% CPU. It's not all the time, though.. I'm guessing that once things are cached in memory it's ok. I don't know if there's anything that can really be done about this, but I'd appreciate it if you could look into it :)

    Plenty of FPs, too, which I will try to get sent in tonight or tomorrow.

    One thing that I never got around to sending in about v3, and still persists in 3.5, is that when I go to the processes tab under analysis, security suite closes as soon as I mouse over any of the processes. This is remedied by closing out my iFeel desktop software, which uses mouse hooks to send "force feedback" to the mouse. This may not be much of an issue for me, but I worry that if someone had a keylogger installed on their system that used hooks, it would do the same.

    Hi,

    ewido runs fine here :), 3 files were reported to be malware:

    C:\WINDOWS\Help\SBSI\Training\WXPPro\CBO\hsc_add.vbs -> Trojan.Io
    C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\System\NetDiag\dglogs.htm -> Trojan.Io
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\MSCOMCTL.OCX -> Backdoor.Ciadoor.13

    eventually FPs?

    Regards,
    qs

    It depends, are these heuristically detected? If so then submit them, the link is in this thread already. :)

    I had to restart my machine this afternoon after an update, so far didn't have any other issues.
    ewidoctrl: 1.3 Mb
    ewidoguard: 25.2 Mb
    cpu idle: 95%

    FP: system32/mscomctl.ocx (I think and send to ewido).
    FP: hm.exe (hostman)

    Works nicely together with NOD32(everything enabled except emon) and SpySweeper (331), Sygate PF

    I just installed it again, did a scan, found some things but I don't trust the program yet./ And what i find most disturbing is that now after a scan and with the scan done and program closed, so only the guard running, all programs on my system are still kind of locked. A program like mstdefrag, which normaly uses no more than 1 mb is now at 14mb and it doesn't go down. Ewidoguard itself on 49 mb...

    It's definitly not good at all...

    EDIT: with scrub RAM in MemTurbo I could get the system back to normal but I had to scrub five times to get the memory back... that's bad.

    I just noticed a small bug as to the date of the last update in the status section. It does not change from "never"...
