IMHO it isn't reasonable to press for a release date.
There are so many factors which must be taken into account.
Even releasing the first beta has to be well prepared.

As soon as Ewido has a reasonably stable version they will decide to
release it for beta-testing and not before.

It's not up to us to decide for them.

Yes you are right.
We should go find these bastards and burn their houses and their cars.
Then they will feel the pressure to release ewido 4 on schedule...
I think this will give them an indication of how much we want this update.

I think ewido 3.5 is a nice program and 4 should be released when everything is ready.

If you are developing something new how can you possibly know how long it will take?
It will be ready when it's ready.

hoping not to appear as some one with a foot in both camps let me say it's pointless rushing the ewido team into releasing version 4 before it's ready,
but,
and it's a big but [so to speak], some of us who have been around the traps for a number of years have been burnt before after paying good money for software, and have been told that there's an update just around the corner only to have it never eventuate. The reason a lot of people at this forum use ewido is because they were TDS users, who waited patiently for the release of TDS 4 only to have the product discontinued and then given some lame excuse for the reason. So I dont think it's a matter of people being "uptight and ignorant", I think it's more a case of people not wanting to see history repeat itself. By the way lets hope it's nothing to do with the number 4, maybe they should skip that and go straight to 5.
In the meantime I'll wait patiently with my fingers crossed. Ewido is a good product, lets hope it remains that way.

 

I'm quite surprised at the voices approving of the continuing delay. But whatever is said, and I note that a date is still not being promised, even after the digs in this thread, I'm ok with version 3.5. Though the user panel is rather plain and simple, since it has no options or ways to see what's happening on real time monitoring: it's all going on behind the scenes (hopefully).

 

I'm not approving any delay nor am I approving hassling the ewido team to rush something out before they think it's ready.
It will be ready when it's ready.

 

As a TDS-4 SHAFTIE I would like a general time frame. Like between June and august with three months posible delay time. Not the 2+ years that TDS-4 was "Just Around The Corner". But I also don't want them to rush it out the door.

 

None is approving any delay...
the problem with all those people expressing their concern about the "delay" is that they are suspicious that something may go wrong.Well even if something goes wrong then you dont have much to lose ...but only 30 $.
On the other hand I try to remain optimistic and believe the ewido team till they prove to be untrustworthy.
Delays are normal and Kaspersky team for example delayed 6.0 version of their antivirus program for sometime .Some may say that at least they had a working beta version ...well I dont disagree.

Peter that's the worst thing you could have said, that's just going to fuel everyones expectations and paranoia, people will be calander watching from this point on marking off the weeks in red ink. Tell them nothing, the less people know the less they can worry, that was TDS's mistake setting targets [although their biggest mistake was shafting every one]. I fear if nothing happens in a couple of weeks angy crowds will start to gather, nasty things will be mentioned, I'd change my address now if I were you.
Let's face it we're a bunch of update junkies, if there isn't a new version of something out every 5 minutes the sky might fall in.

 

No about 2.000.000 weeks or smth.

For every guy is asking again we will wait one week more *SCNR*

Its old news since you should have released it a month ago.
What about version 5.0?When is it going to be released?

I hope you didnt rush out a product because of the pressure...or did you?
Because I think that many users do not want just an update but rather a product that offers something new and enhances the security of the system with new technology.
As long as I am concerned I suggest that you better take your time and make the program the best you can .

where is the link where someone of Ewido stated V4 would be ready last month? .. cause I cannot remember such a post. it was planned the end of April for a long time: at the end of the first quarter...

if you don't like it, just uninstall Ewido it's as easy as that!

I'm sorry I can't tell you why you still enter the old site. It must be still a DNS Cache problem.

You should know what a beta is, it is not the final release. It is just a beta version. What means it is still under development and has probably many bugs left.
