Can someone describe the difference between active mode and passive mode under

Web access protection > HTTP, HTTPS > web browsers > active mode

The documentation is kind of vague.

    Thanks,
    JJJ

In active mode, files are first downloaded and scanned by EAV/ESS for threats and then passed to the application. In passive mode, files are downloaded in small blocks which are gradually passed to the application.
