I noticed the some eastern Europe ESS are ahead of US version. Is this just GUI differences? If so, how does one interpret the Master Version Number A.B.C.D? A major change, B minor core change, C GUI change, D special use?

    Hi YaddaMinski,

This is what was said on June 2.

ESET Smart Security v4.0.437.0 has been released in French-Canadian (FRA) and Russian for licensed users, with trial versions and other languages to follow.

ESET Smart Security v4.0.442.0 Business Edition have been releaed in Hungarian for licensed users, with the Home Edition for licensed users and trial versions to follow. This release contains the same functionality and feature set as v4.0.437.0, with an updated language localization.

Anytime even the smallest thing is changed the version number must also change. In the case above it might have been changing only a word or two.

I'm not sure what you're question is here.

    Hello,

    The format is {major version number}•{minor version number}•{build number}•{miniscule version number}.

The miniscule version number field currently is not used, but could be used in the future to denote such things as re-releases of the software with updated modules, revised language translations and so forth.

Currently, the build number field gets incremented for those, which can be a bit confusing when it is just a module or help file that gets updated and not the program.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky
