I have an accountant client, whom since I installed ESS Home V4 32-bit hasn't been able to use his HMRC 2009/10 CD-ROM. He is adament it worked OK before when he had McAfee installed. The software throws up an error about the firewall possibly blocking access to HMRC's servers. Yet the software doesn't appear to even attempt to connect. No firewall warnings are thrown up in interactive mode, and it makes no difference in automatic mode. Funtionality of the HMRC software is impeded as a result. No other problems seem to have been caused, and the firewall works normally otherwise. I have tried uninstalling the HMRC software, then re-installing with latest updates, but no difference. Also tried resetting all ESS settings to defaults. Not tried a reinstall or ESS since everything appears normal. Are there any known issues with this software that I should be aware of?
