    Just me?

I was getting DPC floods and uninstalling either ESET or the AMD DUAL CORE Optimizer solved the issue.

Reformatting now. Will get back. Have a laptop thank god!

A Google Search for "DPC Flood" showed users having same CPU use issues involving a huge array of reasons: ethernet controller, a Firewall, USB Smartcard keyboard, uTorrent, floppy disk controller, video card fan....etc etc. When each was dealt with the DPC ceased, so creative thinking will serve you best - I doubt it's ESS.

You don't say wich OS you're running but if you are on Vista the Dual Core Optimizer is not necesary since Vista is very much able to take advantage of multicore CPU's, if you are on XP then this little program is of help when handling the distribution of threads to the CPU's cores but you can live without it...
