Well, I think v4 is more stable among other versions.
Please send hotfix for ESET V6 Smart Security memory leak.
Sending PM is currently not available.
this fix for v5 only, problem didn't confirmed in v6 yet!!
I hope they confirm it in v6 and fix it
they have stated as far as i knew there was also a fix for v6 unless i am wrong but i almost positive i read that post before.
where did you read about v6 fix for memory leak?
here Marcos, you said there is a hotfix for V6...
Yeah i would love to get the "hot fix" to but damn PM is down ATM i have horrible memory leak(see picture!)
Oh and BTW i use ESET Smart Security v220.127.116.11 RC on Win7 64bit
Edit #1: PM to Marcos sent!...
Edit #2: Got a PM from Marcos with fix and now ESET only take about 124MB of RAM alot better then 441MB or more of RAM. ^^
i tried the fix and now after 1 day 176 RAM
i think it's still high
If you notice higher memory consumption, check the number of network connections as ekrn allocates certain amount of memory for each.
Then i must have many my ekrn is at 120MB to 260MB of RAM but still better then before over 400MB!
Yeah, but that's still to high I would think hmmmm.... Hopefully it will be sorted once and for all asap
True yeah i think ESET will fix it and make v6 Awesome!
I certainly hope so.
If you are seeing a high memory usage, generate a dump of ekrn.exe via the Task manager, compress it, upload it to a safe location and PM me the download link.
Thank you, I'm going to check the dumps I've received from several users with our devs. Will let you know about our findings.
I installed this latest v18.104.22.168 Antivirus version, and in two days, so far no problems. Working perfect
I don't wanna ask when final version will be published, cause it's never known
Just one question: Am i going to need fresh installation when final version publishes, or just program update. Thanks
You need to perform a clean install once the final version is released.
Although it shouldn't matter in this case, it's better to uninstall a beta / RC version prior to installing the release version, especially if it was using dedicated beta update servers.
Issues with scans not ended properly upon http connection termination have been fixed in the meantime and the fix will be included in the final v6 (it's the same issue as the one reported by Baltagy).
is memory problem same as http problem that i reported it before here?
Is there another build in the works to be released including the fix above, before the final version? Or will ESET simply release a final build v6 whenever it is ready?
Yes, it seems to be the same problem.
V6 has been released in Slovak and Czech with other language versions to follow. Most of them are planned to be released by the beginning of 2013.
