    Hi,

I'm running ESET SS 5 on my Laptop computer running Win XP Pro. When not connected to the internet, ESET SS 5 tries to update and warning boxes pop-up and the notification area icon turn yellow or red.

Is there a setting so that ESET SS 5 will only look for updates when connected to the internet?

It would be nice to have all the "failed update" messages when I know there's no way to update.

    Regards

I checked the scheduler and the closest solution I see is that the scheduler can control updates with a dial-up connection. I don't use dial-up. I plug into a LAN/DSL internet connection.

Does anyone know if the dial-up option will work using a DSL connection?

It would be nice if the ESET programmers would add an always-on DSL type connection for laptops that can suspend all automatic updates when not connected to the internet.

    Regards

    Hello,

My understanding is that the detection logic for Internet connectivity is generic but listed as "dial-up connection" since that's where the issue commonly occurs.
