ESET Smart Security vs Windows XP Service Pack 2 Firewall

    I recommend ESET's firewall, beacause you can choose between three profiles.

    It is not the best firewall but certainly better than the Windows firewall

    now i use windows firewall sp 2 and i wont to try eset and i m not sure.

    The ESS firewall is better because it has outbound control; XP SP2 firewall only blocks incoming traffic. If you're not concerned with having outbound control, the XP SP2 firewall will be good enough.

    Just buy a router ( they're cheap) and be done with it.

    The ESS firewall would be nice, if it actually told you when a program had been modified, and ask if you still want to allow that program access.
