Again the "not being able to connect to workgroups" problem arises. I still use 3.0642 to be able to browse workgroups,

I think this product is the best. It destroys Kaspersky in practically anything. I have KAV7 installed on two separate Windows XP SP3 systems and not one of them caught this keygen.exe i was using for whatever reason as a trojan. Now my system, Windows XP SP3 that i'm using ESET took it out and it doesn't matter if you disabled Firewall/AntiVirus/Spyware on the ESET afterwards, there is no way that it will still let you run that exe file. Now that is crazy.....Using a 30-day trial right now.....it's the $%^&!!!!!

I am using ESET Smart Security v3.0.650.0 on Windows Vista Home Premium.
Windows Mail crashes when receiving too many mails at once if the mails are coming in at high speed. Most of these mails are spam. While checking them and throwing them to junk mail folder, all of a sudden, windows mail stops working and shuts itself down. Crashes occur between 50-70 emails mostly. During the day, windows mail is running all the time (windows mail junk filter is set to high by the way) without any problems. I shutdown the laptop at night. When I log into my mail account in the morning, where there are about 100-150 emails coming in, these crashes occur. But if the mails are coming in slowly (sometimes a high speed download running in the background may cause the mail incoming speed to decrease), then there is no problem.
Laptop is a Sony Vaio Core2Duo 2 Ghz, 2 GB SDRAM, so performance shouldn't be a problem in my opinion.
I hope this problem gets solved in the upcoming updates.

Rainwalker - thanks for pointing that out - I have updated our trial download page, so that the sizes of downloads reflects the file size - it was quite a long way out of date... that's what happens when you're too busy selling product to update the website! ;)

When new versions are released, is it preferable to do a fresh installation and configure everything from scratch, or are install-over-the-top type updates fine (i.e. not problematic?).

    Cheers

    Hello,

Unless otherwise mentioned, you should have no trouble installing a new version of ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus over a previously-installed version. In some cases, a reboot may be required for changes to take effect.

    Regards,
