ESET Smart Security, GMail & Thunderbird...

    hi!
    i´m considering to buy eset smart security and because of that im using the trial version ATM...
    unfortunately i realized, that my Emails wont be scanned because eset doesn't work with thunderbird 2 and ssl port 995...
    but thats what i need, because im user of gmail...
    has anybody got some information or tips for me?

    Hello papapapa,

    Why don't you configure GMail to send your email by pop? Then it will be scanned.

    no. they're not... that's what i was trying to explain to you :doubt:
    Because Gmail uses the Port 995 for it's POP3 Service...
    Eset SS only scans Port 110 properly.

    Do you understand me now? :blink:

    You can use stunnel, then your incoming email will be scanned, even if using port 995.

    Hi, not sure if this is what you meant but did you enable scanning of the port in question.

    Don't confuse POP3 with POP3s ;)

    ronjor how do you configure GMail to send your email by pop so That it will be scanned?

    I'm confused ...when i go to advanced settings number of scanned messages / number of infected messages is 0 even though i check my mail and dl attachments all the time. what do i need to change ?

    thats the point. even if i write 995 in the box eset still doesn't scan the port :rolleyes:
