ok, just installed it on 2 computers with different OS. Everything goes flawlessly on install. I set all my settings up and defrag just to have it right for the reboot and then the same old thing starts. My internet connection is killed, the sidebar in Vista tries to load programs but they just spin. Everything just grinds to a halt. I switched from interactive mode, and I have allowed every box that popped up to be active, to aotomatic mode and reboot. Internet is back, at least showing in my tray, sidebar same problems, open IE7 and it takes forever, so I just close it all out and uninstall. I see no improvement from beta 2. I know Eset is working their tails off to get this right and it really may not be all their fault, especially with Vista. I have yet to see a suite, or some single products work flawlessly with Vista. Avira even has issues. But to me, this isnt ready to be a RC1 at least in my thoughts. I really hope others have better luck, but this was my happenings today. Keep it up Eset, Microsoft is the issue.

Doesn't show mine either, and that is a nice addition. Wonder what the trick is to trigger visibility?

I just restarted my computer and the license data is now gone. :D

It's probably a coming feature that slipped out early.

ESS is a non starter for me with these Firewall issues. I think one could do much better with several available free firewalls and just run the AV. As a Nod32 user, I guess I'll get the update one of these days when Nod32 V3 is pushed to the public.

Thanks for the feedback, maybe it's just with the AV?

    Tested this with following results:

with update user set to essbeta (default on setup) the licence info shows. Changed to use my NOD32 licence and the info disappears after a reboot. Then changed back to essbeta and the licence info comes back.

Maybe it only appears if expiry is within a few weeks as essbeta seems to expire on 31st October but my own licence is Aug 2008.

    Hi Shep:

    I'm with you!

Hold to the solid FW's as prevention trumps cures!:D

I'm ready now to trial Nod 32 AV only and I want the current production version not the beta no more beta's for a while!

Any advice on sources? What is current version #

My license expires 21st of October, so it should show!!!
    Mistery not solved yet! ;)

What's the user/pass for the beta, so I can try it myself?

Dunno Ron. If you have a valid license for JUST the AV and mine expires in 06/09 AND if this is a FREE upgrade, why doesn't it show? Can understand on ESS but not on the AV. Have tried 'em both w/license and neither is projected. DUNNO, may MARCUS can provide the solution? o_O

Hello Escalader. Good to hear from you. My current production version # is 2.70.39. You can get a free 30 day trial by downloading from here:

    http://www.eset.com/download/index.php

Don't forget to go through Blackspear's setup procedure found here:

That function is probably not active yet. The expiration date showing may be for the RC alone.

Users have long wanted the expiration date in the gui so I suppose this is the start of that request.

    essbeta for both entries.

Put in essbeta for the user/pass, but there's no license duration showing! After a re-start......still nothing! So, could not replicate what Crummock did. o_O

Hmm. I would try a repair install over the top of RC1. Go to the download and give it a double click and choose repair.

I can't tell now what licenses are already in the database on the server dedicated for license checking, I'll need to ask our developers.
