    The newest product from ESET appears to be doing a great job protecting my PC, but I do have a concern. At boot up, there is an automatic scan that starts, which is nice and quick, but then the updates come in. IMHO, that should be reversed, so that your computer is being scanned with the latest updates. Is this something that can be re arranged in the user setup?

    No ... and not necessary . The after update scan + the start-up scan + the real-time protection is enough.
