ESET NOD32's HIPS? What/is it needed?

    Location:
    8,575 square foot rancher style.
    Can I disabled HIPS?

    Internet is SLOW, disable HIPS would help YES/NO??

    Do I need HIPS, really seriously?

    Are you sure it's HIPS that causes your internet issue? You can disable the HIPS feature by following the steps here OR it may possibly be caused by your web access protection. There is already a thread discussing this:

    HIPS is a layer of protection provided by ESET and obviously we would not recommend disabling it. You can look at section 4.1.3 of your Userguide to read up on HIPS and what it does, then determine for yourself whether or not you feel you need it.
