I remember we discussed days ago your problems (with NOD32 and possible currupted Windows) . Have you managed to install NOD32 over the existing installation and then reinstall ? I guess you update from internet , have tried to open Control Center -> Uodate -> Setup -> and then see them

Please double check that you have the update server set to 'choose automatically' and then try the update now button just a few times. See if that helps any :)

    Cheers :)

I re-installed over the top as you guys suggested and it seemed to fix the problem. I had the updater set to one of the servers i have always used, although a week ago i changed it to Choose Automatically....someone broke in or at the least attempted to do so via the nod kernel right after that.........so i turned off Choose Automatically...

Please , make sure it is set on Choose Automatically and should be able to get updates from them

Please try a trace route to one of the servers, for example start --> run --> cmd<enter> --> tracert u22.eset.com<enter>
and let us know how that goes for you.

    Cheers :)

The new servers have never had a connection problem, I always download updates at speed about 900 kB/s.

Ok HiTech_boy....i just requested an update via Choose Automatically and got the new servers.......i am tempted to go back to choosing my own for the previously stated reasons......is it SAFER to stay with Choose Automatically and if so why....

Of course, if ESET removes a particular server, or if a particular server is overloaded, NOD32 will be able to download updates only if the automatic server selection is enabled.

I understand that Marcos...in the past, should a server be down, i would simply choose another server....what i was writing and wondering about was whether or not there would be an increase in the chance of a rogue server downloading a infected file if i always opted for Choose Automatically........maybe a silly question...if so would like to know why...

Should only be possible if you have added such servers to the list yourself.

    Cheers :)

Personally I think 2 or 3 new servers would have been enough, the rest was just a bonus :D

Thank you ESET for the new servers :)
I did think a few more were needed, but 9 new servers is great =)

Just curious as to why their u20-29.eset.com rather than continuing from u8 onwards. Also what happened to u5 and u6

    Thanks again

Leak from the usually well informed but undisclosed source: u5 and u6 have been taken out of the racks, delivered to the nearest shooting range to serve for a shotgun target practise of virus lab staff :ninja:

Not a single error on the web page, quite unusual :)
But imho, the new servers makes it all run a hell of a lot smoother.
