Thx - installed and checking this baby out. To me, this simple well designed and well layed-out gui is the best ive ever seen :thumb: Really good job Eset. Hoping the product in terms of protection and functionality will be outstanding :)

can't they work on their GUI? It has been like that for years

Why should you work on the GUI, just to work on the GUI? ESET ain't <insert one of the vendors with yearly releases here>.
What are you real usability problems with the GUI?

    just another <blingbling> gui...
for a professional product i meanwhile expect a more professional gui.
the old gui v3/v4 looks more sophisticated.

IMHO, I prefer that Eset work in their engine and new features such as the new Cloud, to have the effectiveness that it had years ago, than focusing in the GUI, wich I feel is ok for the moment. :)

The new GUI looks a bit more dynamic, which is IMO always a good thing.

The old "serious type" one is nice though.

They need something catchy for modern "users".
This one looks great, simple and yet sophisticated IMO :thumb:
Good enough, nothing overly flashy and nothing utterly boring or complex for everyday users :D

I dont see any major difference to the gui. why change something that you dont need to change?
the gui looks better than the older version IMO. its less confusing.
i like the new advanced setup. in the old one i commented that it was annoying you had scroll bars for advanced setup and version 5 has solved that issue.

I recently trialed eset smart smart security 4 ( i usually use Avast internet security),and liked its lightness.I couldnt however work out how to get the email scanner to scan SSL even though it said it could? ( i have no problems with avast being able to do so and easy to set up). That said i think this newer version looks really nice.I dont like over flashy guis. The only thing that puts me off eset is that the products always seem to be a tad too expensive for my liking, and i never seem to be able to find any bargains to make a purchase worthwhile.

The GUI is not the most important part of any product. Admittedly, if it looks good, that's a bonus, but how a product performs is far more important.

I love a product combining total customization with simplicity and modularity.

The GUI can be disabled by pressing Ctrl + G

Also, i though they would strike with more features or lots of new things on V5 but they were conservative, which isn't bad but i'm pretty sure lots of people were waiting for lots of new features. :D
