Error message 5 (0x640005)

    I did try to create backup of my hard drive but I am receiving this message......plz help

    Module: 100
    error (Code): 5 (0x640005)
    Message: operation has completed with errors

    Look in the Acronis log file accessible from the True Image (TI) main screen. Before that error message there likely is one that more precisely specifies what TI had a problem with. Along with the error code, there is an few words of explanation on the right side of the entry.

    This assumes you were running in Windows since I don't think the standalone CD version updates the log file.

    - What is the exact name of the product that you use and what exactly did you try to perform?
    - What hard drive have you tried to back up?
    - Where have you saved the image archive file?

    - Could you please also provide us with the log with the error?
    - Start Acronis True Image;
    - Select Tools -> Show log;
    - Choose the log entry which contains errors;
    - Click on the diskette icon, choose the location (folder) and save there;
    - Collect the log.

    Please also create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    I am using Acronis True Image 9.0 2,337. I did try to Backup my entire HD.
    - What hard drive have you tried to back up?
    I did try to back up C and D (1 drive)
    - Where have you saved the image archive file?
    I did not saved it, because its giving me that error, I did try to save it to D,a nd even portable USB Drive

    - Could you please also provide us with the log with the error?
    - Start Acronis True Image;

    Please check each partition of your hard drives by Windows utility:

    - For Windows 9x please use Windows menu Start\Run
    then enter the command "scandskw" and test all drives;

    - For Windows XP please use Windows menu Start\Run, then enter the command
    "chkdsk c: /r" "chkdsk d: /r" for every partition of your hard drives.

    Please note that you will need to reboot your computer in order to scan the system partition.

    If that does not help then please download the latest version of Acronis drivers, install it with disabled logging and see if the problem still persists.

    If the problem still persists then enable logging by running the Acronis drivers installation package once again, reproduce the problem and collect the c:\snapapi.log file.

    Please create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    - For Windows 9x please use Windows menu Start\Run

    I am using WinXP

    - For Windows XP please use Windows menu Start\Run, then enter the command
    "chkdsk c: /r" "chkdsk d: /r" for every partition of your hard drives.
    I did this for both Drives and they did pass 5/5 tests.....what kind of things I am looking here?

    Please note that you will need to reboot your computer in order to scan the system partition.

    If that does not help then please download the latest version of Acronis drivers, install it with disabled logging and see if the problem still persists.

    If the problem still persists then enable logging by running the Acronis drivers installation package once again, reproduce the problem and collect the c:\snapapi.log file.

    Hi, Dusan. If you look at the first copy and paste that you showed of the log, you will see the line
    <event code="11" id="7" message="Priority changed to High priority" module="100" time="1144307523" type="3" />

    I do not know the answer to the problem - sorry - but I am having the same error, only mine changes to low priority.

    Other people also are reporting the same problem but there was no answer given so far as to the cause of it. Something makes TI change the priority during the backup and that results in an error message.

    See my post of tonight with a similar question. I hope we both get an answer.

    I used to get change priority messages when I didn't have the priority set to Normal. In any case, I don't recall it ever caused the backup to terminate with an error. If I didn't look in the log I would never see it. Any backups I made with a priority change worked OK.

    I am not sure if this will help but if I do set up Backup Priority to high I am going to receive Warning sign if I do not set up Backup Priority to high I am not going to receive that Warning line:

    I did try to back up C: Drive to D: I also did try to Back Up C: and D: to external but I am having same problems like you.....So I guess its not only me :)

    I have a suspicion that that priority warning is not the problem.
    Do you have an HP Pavilion? We seem to have the same drive letters.

    This is my first attempt at backup. I just restored to the original configuration and finished reloading all the updates and drivers. I'd like to have a backup of a clean machine.

    Initially I was trying to backup 2 drives onto a 3rd, but after reflection, the 2nd drive is only going to have files, so it doesn't need really to be part of the backup. I can backup files manually. So now I am trying to just backup drive C onto an external USB drive.

    Let's see if we can get it done.

    No, i dont have Pavilion, its a custom made. Thing that I dont like is that I did create BackUP like 3-4 months ago and it did work, and since then I did not change anything with my machine....but I lost stupid file and now I am trying to do backup and its not working, its giving me this error.....
