    Hi,

Hope everyone is well. I'm new to this site so be gentle with me lol!

Whenever I start up my laptop I get the following error message:

    "error loading c:\windows\systems32\zlzgckl.dll
The specific module could not be found"

It does no harm because I can click on it and it disappears but it is just annoying as I have to do it everytime.

Can someone help me to remove it please and why does it come up?
I am a complete novice so if you do have the solution treat me like an idiots guide!!

    Thnx
    Joogy

    Welcome to the forum Joogy!

I'll state that doesn't appear to be the file of a legit software. What does your virus scanner say? This xp you're on?

Click Start>Run... type in msconfig ... click the "startup" tab and locate c:\windows\systems32\zlzgckl.dll.
Uncheck it and click OK>Restart. In your next startup, you shouldn't have the message "error loading" popup and you'll have another grey popup about msconfig... tick the box and click OK.
    Problem solved?

Should your problem persist Joogy, follow these guideline's and post on their forum's. You'll receive qualified advice on getting that missing file message properly cared for, not merely masked. I suspect it's the result of a previous infection, one that may still be undermining your system.

Many thanks Global force and Dawgg.
I have contacted the other forum like you said GF.
Dawgg will what you are saying solve the problem or will it just hide it?

Either way many thanks once again to both of you for your time.

    My mistake Joogy,

I've noticed their program link hasn't been updated in some time.
You'll need the latest version before posting, the "installer" file found here.

My thoughts were that the file was there (possibly due to an infection), but it has now gone which is causing the error saying the file is not found... (because the file has been removed so its no longer there) and seeing as the file has gone, it wont startup anyway so you havent got that specific file starting up... and you be at risk of anything by unchecking it in msconfig... it'll just remove the popup at startup.

You *may* still have other infections... do as GlobalForce said to be on the safe side and get it checked over :)
