Restart PC after doing so in Safe Mode : here's How and remove :

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll <- this file
C:\RECYCLER\NPROTECT\00043042.exe <- empty recycle bin! Make sure those are gone

    Clean temp internet files

    Restart again in normal mode

    Hope this helps

I removed the items you suggested in the scan log with no problem, however I'm not real sure about the last part. You said to start in safe mode and remove the other 2 files. Where do I remove them from? Incedently, the error message is not popping up at start up anymore, but I still can't get IE to work and I can't access windows update from the start menu??

    Hi Rick,

With the last two in safe mode I meant, open a program to browse on your PC (like windows explorer) and manually go to this location :

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll <- when found (if still present) rightclick+delete this file : bridge.dll

The other one was still in recycle bin, but still actively running on your PC, that's why I asked to start in safe mode, just to make sure you could empty it.

    Keep us posted

    Cheers,

Sorry if I missed this and you already tried:

    Download and run CWShredder
Use the Fix button and follow the instructions provided by the program.

    Then reboot.

    Regards,

    Pieter
