Error Closing Address Book

Have been getting an ESET error upon closing Outlook Express v6. Error = "Error Closing Address Book (0)"

Just in case there is some software compatibility issues, I also run PCTools "ThreatFire" and "Spyware Doctor" without AntiVirus. All are current versions.

There were issues between EAV/ESS and Outlook Express with previous versions of the program . Make sure both ESS and Windows are updated to the very latest versions (I mean use Windows Update to install all updates for the OS and download and install ESS 4.0.424).

If it still doesn't work , you might try to disable the integration of ESS into Outlook Express
Deselect the appropriate option here

The page you linked for ESS update is the "trial" download. Is that what I want to do? Isn't there a program update instead of a reinstall?

No ,the link I gave you is for both registered versions and trial versions . If you are with paid version , choose either the Home , Business or the Mobile version to download the approprirate build . Read better.
