MajorGeeks.com (Jan 17) has announced that NOD32 Version 2.51.20 is out and offers downloads of this engine via several links. One source link is NOD32 itself.

    QUESTION:
Where is the update for version 2.51.20?

    QUESTION:
How can we tell what our "complete" current version is. The labels atop our control center window reads only: NOD32 2.5

Not necessarily unless you encounter some problems with the current version. Actually it comes with a workaround for the Cisco router issue reported by not more than 5-7 clients so far.

Thanks Marcos.. We users really appreciate if we are provided with the changelogs. Cuz, as all of u might agree, the version numbering adopted for NOD32 is very confusing...

I agree. I totally lost track.
Different version if you download the installer, and different version if you update through NOD. (2.50.45 & 2.50.30)
Or is it the other way around? hmm, who knows :)

I think ESET guys should gather together and make one unified version system. At least for same edition.
For example unified version numbering for all personal computer editions (workstation), same for server ones, same for X...

Giving different versions for different languages is stupid and extremelly confusing for users. Same goes for 32/64bit editions.
I'm sure this is perfectly clear:
    NOD32 2.50.25 Slovenian
    NOD32 2.50.25 English (common/worldwide)

See, we have different language "packs" but program itself is based on the exactly same version. If we update core of the english one we get update for Slovenian too. Until translators do their work you simply keep older version as reference.

Brian_N, and my english version is 2.50.25. See the confusion?
Though those who play around AVs alot know that revision 45 is x64 version while 25 is x86, though it's basically the very same program version. Even more confusing...

I have the 32bit version, the very same installer from June last year :)
Never used 64 bit, and if I did, it would probably be 2.51.xx

Just to clear up the confusion:
    1. the latest installer for 32/64-bit systems is 2.51.20
    3. the latest installer for 32-bit NT systems is 2.50.45
    2. the latest automatic PCU is 2.50.25 (2.50.41 for the Internet suppoort module)

Newer versions usually mean that a new language has been added.

Marcos, I agree with RejZoR. Why don't U use more simple numberings.

    2.50.45 en
    2.50.45 si
    2.50.45 de
    etc.

    Regards,

    izi

That's interesting, since I still have 2.50.25, even for the Internet support module (I use the 32-bit NT version).

What did 2.50.41 do for Internet support? And the screenshot above suggests there's a 2.50.45 version of this module.

And why does the download page still say 2.50.25 (not 2.50.45) is the latest overall version? And what's new with it relative to .25?

One suggestion.. Since the 64 bit version contains the installer for the 32 bit version too, why not just drop the 32 bit version? Would be a little easier on the users :p

Why worry and lose so much sleep over it? Just focus on the major version numbers (X.XX)..that's what counts. o_O

After reading this thread i uninstalled the 32 bit 2.50.45 version and installed the 64 bit 2.51.12 version (Dutch) on a normal XP Home SP2.

That is silly. I do not want to uninstall the 32 bit version and then install the 64 bit version just to up my engines. I should be able to acheive this through a simple update.

Can someone please point me towards this updateo_O?

o_O Version 2.50.25 is ok. There was an automatic update of the Internet support module to v. 2.50.45 which resolves a problem with Windows update, and that's the only thing changed. Just in case you were getting an error "Downloaded file damaged" you should install v. 2.51.20 manually.
