    Hi Privacy Posters:

This thread has a "specific" theme.

To identify and compare encryption / un-encryption software tools on a function by function basis.

The list of tools I have is short for the moment

    1. TrueCrypt
    2. AxCrypt
    3. Digital Lock
    4. Blowfish Advanced CS,
    5. The 1st request is please add to the tool list.

The second part deals with functions or features you need/want in these tools:

    1. Ease of Use, or the GUI
    2. Compatibility issues, vista etc
    3. Encryption Algorithms offered
    4. By File selection only
    5. By folder as well
    6. By partition
    7. By drive
    8. What happens to original file?
    9. Shredding
    10. Self extracting extension modification to avoiding FP on Virus scans
    11. Password selection, global only or on a file by file basis
    12. Vendor credibility and support
    13. Documentation and on line help
    14. So the 2nd request is please add to the features list here is the sticky link https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=3919&page=5.

Once we have a complete tool list and the needed features, you can weight the features and apply them to the tools. Your weights will vary from mine or other posters thus resulting in different selection. So there is no reason to argue about tools or features. For example, if you weight vendor credibility high and for you a specific vendor is not up to snuff, they get zero on your scale. Same notion with features. If you only work by drive then tools without that function are gone!

See you later, I will wait now.
