    Thanks.

Meanwhile I received same alert for poker application (www.pkr.com).
If that behaviour is blocked PKR won't start saying it can't connect to internet.

Anyways , great product you have here, maybe you should concider having digitally signed apps to be trusted as safe and have no alerts.

There is such a check already. Digitally signed apps from trusted vendors are rated different by the behavior blocker.

But sometimes only the setup binaries are signed, the included binaries not.

Binaries for this one are digitally signed.
No worries though, it's not a big problem.

    One more question :

After smart scan I choose to ignore (add to whitelist) one file that was found.
Then in Whitelist I've noticed malware name is added and not that file.
So, is that file ignored or every malware with that name ?

Yes, because when you right click an item in the result list, it could contain multiple files and/or registry keys.

However, you can whitelist the path to the file or folder too. Just edit the whitelist item.

Yes. Emsisoft Commandline Scanner 5.0 introduces new parameters to scan files by handles and data by buffers in memory.

As it also contains the signatures which are the major part of the download, it's about 90 mb too.

FYI There seems to be a conflict with MBAM and emsisoft AM 5. For some reason I had it installed and it was working normal for about 30 seconds on reboot. Then it locked up. I rebooted and then Emsisoft icon wouldn't start up. Then it locked up again. I don't think I can live without MBAM running. I un-installed Emsisoft. I guess its back to OA++ until things get worked out.

I've been using A-Squared (now Emisosoft Anti-Malware) for almost a year now and I've been very happy using it, although I've always think the alerts are annoying (How can I allow the whole "imagevenue.com" domain and put it in the whitelist?).

But after the new version was installed (automatically upgreaded) I've noticed that many applications like Firefox, Live Messenger, Opera, etc. are taking many seconds more to launch. I've unchecked "Alert Riskware" and "Alert unknown malware (heuristics)", also I AM NOT using the new "scan all files when they are read", only the 'scan when created or modified' is active.

I noticed it began to slow down when I checked the scan when read and then -after my Windows 7 system freezed- I returned to 'scan when created or modified' as it was before.

Any thoughts? is this normal now or should I download the new version 5 installer and do a clean installation? thanks

edited: to correct "imageshack.us" for "imagevenue.com"

The Download*com download link provided by Emsisoft is not working now. The Majorgeeks and Softpedia download links are working.

I believe they have made a mistake force the update to version 5 so early. I also believe their beta did not went well because it seems some basic bugs are getting fixed now.

Personally, have issues with crashes during updates and higher cpu load ( even if I tweak the settings to get a behavior similar to the version's 4 ).

I have also tried it with Vipre ( tweaking emsisoft to get scan only on execute ) but it was hell. Previous version was working perfectly with Vipre.

I was always satisfied with Emsisoft but this time no. I believe it will get them sometime to bring back the stability and the performance of the previous version, but in the meantime my licenses countdown cannot be stopped. So I hope they fix their issues soon.

    NoIos,
yeah there are some bugs that still need to be worked out. They're being taken care of pretty quick. Someone had noticed something last night and dropped a debug log to admin. They had a fix for it and something other things this morning.
