I'm seeing frequent email timeouts when polling email from OE.
I'm aware that this is an issue with NAV, is it a similar one with NOD?
Can I safely disable incoming and outgoing email scanning and remain protected?

    NOD newbie here

    Regards,

You shouldn't see this at all with Nod32.

    Cheers :D

Thanks but can I disable incoming and outgoing mail as an experiment while still being protected - just to rule out NOD?

You could disable pop3 scanning in the Imon module and see if it helps. Amon, the realtime scanner, will scan the files.
Or, you can try adjusting the compatibility setup in the pop3 setup options.

Ron I've increased client compatability first to see if that helps things.
Which I hope it will. Thanks for the tips.
I'll post back once I've given the settings some time to settle and decide if they like their new home, if you will.

In addition to that you might try increasing the server timeout setting usually under the advanced settings tab for your POP3 accounts. I know myself I have several POP3 email accounts on several different servers as well as a few http email accounts that I also use within Outlook and periodically it would not be able to connect to a particular server during a mail check since in addition to IMON fully enabled I also have EMON fully enabled as well............

    Hope this helps
