This isnt meant to be a replacement for high speed fiber-optic connections, the audience is people living in rural or remote areas that usually only has satellite or very old slow DSL connections with datacap (like Hughesnet) available

For such audience, what is Starlink is providing is simple transformative, it is literally changing their lives.

Even in this "better than nothing beta" state it is still pretty good according to users, you can even game on it considering that latency is usually lower than 50ms and downloads speeds are decent, averaging 120 ~ 150 mb.

Starlink end goals (for now) is to provide 10 gbps downlink for its users with less than 30ms latency, as more satellites are sent it is expected to have at least 1 gbps downlink and this should happen "soon".

All in all this technology is very promising, it has the potential to change many people lives for the better.
