It's not gone, it was a sloppy makeover. Most text and icons have been changed from blue to black, but there are still quite a few blue elements. There are also quite a few mentions of 'Twitter' instead of 'X', including Twitter Blue, which even still has the bird icon.

    Yes, I think so too.

It seems to rotate the elements around somewhat here. Like this is what the main page on my feed looks like right now. "Tweet" is periodically replaced with "Post" and back again. Not very cohesive at the moment but OK, whatever.

I never did like Twitter in the past, but now at least everyone has an equal opportunity for their voice to be heard. The platform has been rapidly improving by making the algorithm not favor any certain political party. A certain political party got use to their ideas and beliefs being promoted while anything contrary to theirs were being silenced. He is doing exactly what he said he would do, and people want to crucify him for promoting free speech.

The man who bans people for any criticism levied against him is promoting free speech? Please...

I have no knowledge of that incident, I would have to look into it myself.

Well at the current time, the blue bird trademark is gone, replaced by an intensely bright white illuminated X on the building's rooftop, which is flashing and shining incredibly piercingly into surrounding buildings. I mean; theoretically, this can trigger seizures, that's how intense it is.

Last I read about it, didn't Musk not pay rent on a couple of buildings? He's not afraid to push the limits of his influence to see what he can get away with. :cautious: I hope that X thing goes away, for the sake of working tenants who have to get up in the morning.

Moving to superapps, with video platforms, published articles, albums, financial trading, etc. Probably the same with Meta.

Agreed. While I didn't use Twitter in the past and certainly won't be doing so now, I really do appreciate that Elon has done his best to remove censorship from Twitter. For the record, I'm not a particular fan of Elon, but I like what he's done in this case.

I find it quite funny that when people were complaining of censorship and shadow banning, some people were saying that Twitter is a private company and they can do what they like. Now that Twitter is allowing opinions that the same people don't agree with, they are upset about it.

I have not seen the "bird" since I upgraded the Android App on 2023-07-29. The "X" look just fine. I have not seen the word Twitter (excluding in post them selves since the update. It's still called Retweet, in my Profile it still shows Tweets. New post are still called Tweets, there is a Tweet button to Tweet it. I have x number of Tweets. Not sure what they are supposed to be called now and I don't see it as an issue.

Bottom line, the "bird" IS gone for me at least.

I personally think Elon Musk has lost it. Why change such an iconic name, unless he believes it to be seriously damaged? He also could have made Twitter a super app, the X name just sounds dumb and dull. Way back, he apparently also tried to change PayPal's name into X, but he was shown the door LOL.

I originally went to Twitter because it wasn't FB. I've stuck around this long to see how it played out, but I haven't engaged since the takeover (and have lost my desire to do so). I'm leaving Twitter not just because I don't like Musk as a person, but also because he's turning Twitter into Facebook. There are more ads, and I wouldn't be so sure about the algorithm being unbiased; it's whatever Musk wants it to be. (Then again, I never really liked the algorithm as it buried stuff I wanted to see.) Hate speech has risen dramatically. And yes, Musk has booted accounts that say things he doesn't like being said about him or have said such things in the past -- not entirely free speech. He could've played this so many different ways, but he chose to bully his way through the takeover and now the makeover, and do it "his way" -- which apparently includes constantly changing his mind. If nothing else, he's been highly entertaining.

Better watch that knot brain. He also has curtailed Bandwidth on Videos Posted, Never once had any issue until that too-rich-to-be-useful clown has rendered Twitter USELESS.

I think Elon Musk put that sign up solely for the annoyance factor, it worked.

I am amused by the reactions to "X", X Xwitter, Twitter what ever. It still the same, nothing has really changed. Self important people that think that Twitter, now "X" is the center of the universe (it is not.). I don't see that hate speech has risen dramatically on "X". What I see is more tweets that conflict with the dominate trends on twiiter before the Musk take over. Opinions and views that were previously not allowed or reduced in visibility to users are now front and center (for the most part). I'm just a reader, rarely post, follower count means nothing to me. I do follow a lot of folks with a wide variety of views and opinion, many conflict with my own, I'm cool with that, I want to read those things. A lot also fits with my views of things. Obviously I'm good with that. "X" is not even close to being like Facebook.

It was already kind of vandalized before shelling out all that cold cash for it but it's lack of internal oversight is only proliferated the most infantile meme/gifs ever defaced on a site as that. But if he wants to associate with that sort of structure it only reflects back like a boom-a-rang.

X/Twitter has become a complete flop as expected, what a waste of capital:

I don't know about a complete flop. I doubt it will close down anytime soon, although I doubt I'll ever use it. Many media outlets have taken an anti Elon stance after he bought Twitter, due to his efforts to stop censorship, which they don't like.

Well, I would call it a complete flop when X/Twitter's stock value is down because of slowing revenue and profit. And like you said, big advertisers are backing down because of all of this free speech stuff. And not to forget, I haven't seen any of his plans of transforming X into a so called super-app being realized yet. It's probably way harder than he thought.

Latest news is that former Twitter executives want their $128 million. If this is true than Elon Musk really is quite a shady guy. On the other hand, didn't these folks already made quite a lot of money when they sold Twitter to Musk? I think this money should go the thousands of employees who lost their job because of these greedy executives.
