The thread degenerated because of trolling, as a few threads started by Prevx have done recently. Some I feel have little or no interest in WSA other than disrupting threads because of some issue in the past usually or often for pure enjoyment & we end up with the same old arguments rolled out (though sometimes disguised) & this is done quite cleverly by just a few people & they are in the minority, with the same reasons & the original basis for the thread is quickly lost & once again the trolls win - Reading this thread this again the original title basis was lost on the first page ! - By the time it gets moderated it's too late - That's my point of view anyway - Not feeding the trolls would seem to be an option?

Yeah, pretty sad. This one started on discussing "double scanning" and ended up on "USN Journal" o_O o_O
But I sincerely admire the patience of PrevxHelp :thumb:

    very well expressed.:thumb:
What constitutes trolling we may ask.A differing of opinion perhaps?
Ive been accused of being a troll in this very forum for merely opposing somebody else,s point of view, now surely this is what general discussion is all about. If anything it degenerates into personal attacks which to be quite honest is absurd considering nobody on this forum actually knows each other in a physical sense.

Discussion of any software product is going to bring a diversity of opinions etc but i certainly would not call this trolling by any means.
Anyway i dont intend to ramble on about this and i thought i would add my own little post on this subject.:)
    Many Regards.:thumb:

Constantly revisiting the same "concerns" that have been answered multiple times in multiple places.
Engaging in an ongoing and slur campaign based on faulty information despite being repeatedly and frequently refuted by multiple people and agreed to be non-issues by the majority of thread participants.
Continuing to attack and question something in the same dead-horse-beating manner after stating multiple times in multiple locations that it is no longer in use and thus the individual has no interest in actually trying to improve or provide benefit but rather is just making futile attempts to attack it.

Those are some examples of what constitutes trolling, but are not all-inclusive.

There is a substantial difference between constructive and destructive approaches. We generally consider it trolling when the approaches are destructive and just trying to get a rise out of people and waste their time (again).
