dvd problem with true image

    I have recently purchased version 8.0
    I created an image without any problems. But it wont write an images to my dvd even though i have a dvd+-RW drive. I went online to get an update but the website says there is no updates even though the latest build online is newer than the one i have installed.

    The program JUST wont write images to DVD, cd i can, but not dvd.
    Its just the program because i then installed some software that came with my dell and it was able to burn to the dvd. I then uninstalled it and tried the true image but still it didnt work

    I think the program needs to get latest update but online when i go there it says no updates to download.

    the cds i'm trying to use are sony dvd+R

    any helpo_O

    Trueimage does not support direct dvd writing.
    You will have to incorporate 3rd party software or manually burn files.
    Details in the manual.
    You didn't mention what release you have.

    my mistake
    i'll install 3rd party dvd burning software then.
    the i didnt register my product properly which is why i couldnt get any updates. Now i got the latest build for version 8.0 which is 937

    thanks anyways

    Please read more on how to write your images to DVD in this FAQ article.

    Please also note that the ability to write images to DVD directly will be implemented in the future builds\versions of a particular product, but exact time frame is not decided yet.

    In case you have the appropriate UDF packet DVD writing software installed and all of your DVDs are properly formatted according to the above mentioned FAQ article, but you still can not write your images to DVD, please collect the following information:

    - Create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post;

    - Reproduce the problem and collect Acronis True Image 8.0 log which can be saved from Tools -> Show Log -> Diskette icon;

    - Have you received any error messages? What exact error messages? When exactly have you received them?

    - Describe actions taken before the problem appears step-by-step.

    Please also download and install the free trial version of Acronis True Image 9.0, try to create an image saving it to DVD once more and see if the problem still persists. Let us know the result.

    Please submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the information about your purchase of Acronis software (order number, e-mail, where did you purchase our product, etc.) and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.
