Hi there, I have an Esystem ei3102 which I purchased second hand. When I got it, the motherboard had major problems so I decided to replace it. Now I have a working laptop with up to date windows 7 ultimate - all usb ports and wireless card working. The problem is when I connect in the DVD drive the laptop cuts off completely, This is a second drive I bought to try and fix the problem. If the drive is connected at startup the laptop goes as far as the windows logo then off and reboots. I have updated the bios and replaced the sata hdd, I also removed the wireless card and disconnected the usb ports, none of the above helped. If I leave the drive disconnected, the laptop works flawlessly. I have ran out of ideas and maybe someone has an answer to this as I noticed another thread about this but it was too old to reply to and there was no solution given. Thanks.
