    hello,
i installed dr web yesterday on windows 2k pro sp4 no problem.
i installed to much software so i reinstalled it today.
i thought first i will try out nod32 on it worked fine then uninstalled it.
    then i installed kis6.0
    uninstalled and installed drweb.
it gets stuck on installing the spider mail so i have a half installed version of drweb that add/remove programs cant change or remove it...
so i booted in to safe mode and used the kaspersky removal tool incase remandents of kaspersky stopped the install of drweb.
so if the install doesnt finish how can i uninstall the half installed drweb that dont work because i had to cancel it?
i dont want to have to reformat just because ive got a half installed antivirus that dont work.

Maybe try the DrWEB installer again. This time run the repair mode that comes with it and see if that fixes the install...o_O

    this forum is biased!
yep, couldnt have said it better myself,

there are modify and repair functions in the installer, which should fix the problem

the installer wouldnt did give me the repair option.
    heres what i done,
i right clicked the non working spider and clicked unload.
then i clicked uninstall then rebooted when it asked me to.
then i started the installer again but it got stuck at the spider mail guard again.
so i opened process explorer and noticed there where two spider mail guards active. so i end one of the processes the install continued but later got stuck again. it was the same thing ended the second spider mail and it done the quick scan of the pc and then asked for update then reboot.
now it works fine. dono if the uninstaller in add/remove program will work thou.
