Interestingly enough, the EXACT same thing happened on my wife's test PC earlier today. This PC also runs WinME and Dr. Web, and I uninstalled Dr. Web on that machine a few hours ago.

Could you please elaborate on the fix provided by the fine folks at Dr. Web??

    Thanks in advance,

Two days ago they've released a new version of DrWeb scheduler with some nice option but it was pulled the very same day (I believe). Even drweb.com listed scheduler update info.

This upgrade was applied automatically to all DrWeb users but it was rolled back to the old version.

I don’t know if this issue is related to this or not.

Virus submission responds time? Fix was available in about 20 min.

That's the main reason why DrWeb 4.33 is my favourite plus the lightness and heuristics too. :D

    Best regards,

As always, Technodrome is spot on. The new file Drweb sent me was drwebupw.exe.
