driver/hardware detective ??

    Hi all !
    Hoping everybody is well.

    I know their is software that is called Driver
    Detective. Does this detect hardware before drivers are installed ?
    Is their software that will detect hardware (modems,NIC, VGA,etc...) and display make and model numbers ? This would be especially useful in Win98 and WinME when after a format the hardware could be detected when drivers are needed.
    Hope this makes sense !! :D

    Hi

    another way of finding drivers is to look at the hardwear and lookup the federal ID number to find who made the hardwear.
    I have done that many times.
    unless of course it is a laptop :)
