Download to desktop safe?

  1. Hi

    Will downloading my email to desktop (Without having ever opened it) infect me with a virus/trojan/keylogger if the email is infected? Or is downloading it to desktop a safe way to do it? Provided i don't open the email till it is scanned with my anti-virus/anti-spyware apps once on my desktop. Thanks for any assistance.

    as long as you don't open it or preview it, you are safe. as you are using an e-mail client and i'm assuming that you are not using any e-mail scanner by reading your post. in that case i'll advice you to get one.
