I have not found a need to use a download manager.

Internet Download Manager is by far the best, Orbit Downloader just got on my nerves as with all the other download managers I have tried, I'm currently not using one, as I'm more of a torrent downloader nowadays, so Vuze for torrent downloads has my vote on this one, Other than that Firefox and Opera is fast enough for my download needs, In firefox I use download statusbar, and rarely enable and use Download Them All, Or the Download Helper Add-on when I need them!

DownloadStudio. Not free, but worth every dime. More stable than the browser's built in downloader and highly customizable. Many times if I close the browser (IE or Firefox) it cancels the download, where with DownloadStudio I don't have to worry about it.

No, don't need 'em. I used Star Downloader for awhile, but it just got in the way. SeaMonkey or Firefox download fine.
