I use Adblock Plus and I subscribe to the Easylist filters service, but I was under the impression this just stopped me being bombarded with ads. Does it offer any anti-malware functionality?

Don't know about using it as a security tool but it may be possible.

I know that you can right click any image and "Adblock image" which comes in handy on forums where some people have those annoying images that show your ip and provider.

Compromised or rogue ad networks may deliver malware. Fake scanners are usually spreaded using ads.
