Yes, do not activate AVZ Guard. I did and I locked my self out.

    AVZ Antiviral Toolkit 2008 v4.30 > http://bbs.betabbs.com/index.php?showtopic=108231

At the bottom of the OP, there is a link to an english help file > AVZHelp.zip ( 63.49k )

    Quoted from this help file:

"AVZGuard subsystem blocks critical operations in the system. When AVZGuard is enabled, no application can launch, change the registry, kill a process, etc. It is highly recommended to enable AVZGuard before system cleanup – it prevents malicious software from recovering its files, registry items, etc."

" Please note! AVZGuard is a blocking tool. The behaviour of the running applications may be unpredictable if it is enabled; the subsystem may prevent you from various system actions, and you may not be able to work properly at your machine. It is highly recommended that you exit as many applications as possible before enabling AVZGuard and reboot after manual healing not disabling it. You should always remember: AVZGuard is NOT an antivirus monitor or proactive defense subsystem! It is a means to lock the system and freeze several operations."

No, there is no real-time protection. AVZ is a manual cure tool, mostly.

I've experimented a bit with AVZ: nice gorilla app.
I was just surprised to see that particular problem.
    Not a nice surprise.
I was glad you posted: may have saved me some probs: over and out.

Interesting to see if others have noticed what the issue is and what the 'out' is.
There have been postings here and there iirc about BSODs from turning AVZGuard off.
The english help file has been a bit elusive for me ....

LOL until now: tx for the links above

ok, that'll do-i've had about enough of the questioning of sas's abilities to effectively detect and clean malware.

it does detect malicious elements with near 100% accuracy and it cleans said with the same %.

the developers put much work into this program, and it shows- it's efficiency has been praised again and again on this board and abroad.

    thanks
