Does ESET 5 claim to be smaller and faster than ESET 4

    Can anyone say with 100% certainty that Eset 5 is faster than Eset 4?

    it is, but, I think now that 4 was a more rounded and better product.

    It is mainly because v5 and newer utilize cloud information to speed up scanning. The latest version 5.2.9 addresses issues reported from older versions (5.0 or 4.x) so I assume it's best to install.
