    Hi

I ask this question because I have got my Comodo Internet Suite Antivirus setup to Auto update, yet this afternoon there was an amber warning that my virus definitions were out of date. So I clicked the amber button and it updated.

BUT, this is not my idea of AutoUpdate, I would not expect to press anything or even see an alert if it is up to date. Have I misunderstood or am I not doing something correctly?

In advanced settings I have Auto download of program updates (check every 1 day) and set the virus database updates for 4 hours.

    Appreciate any feedback.

    Thanks

    Terry

I believe the default is every 6 hours for auto-update on the definitions. If that hasn't been answered already. Thanks

Only time i experience this is when i havent used the computer for a while terry and it needs a manual update but otherwise it by default updates every 6 hours but you can change this.
Also you have continuous cloud cover provided you are connected to the internet so comodo does not need to download updates that often.

They don't provide all the signatures as well in cloud as in database signs. Sometimes Cloud is even more up to date (with CAMAS detections).

    Hi spywar.
Agreed and as i said the only time i ever see the amber on comodo is when the computer has not been used in a while so i always perform a manual update first but i would assume it automatically updates in time.

What i would suggest also is deleting the vendor n file and creating a local whitelist on the computer because i dont know half of any of those vendors and some i cannot even pronounce.:D

So I. May be that all vendors are trusted, but they are too much : it decreases the aim of an HIPS, to check personally all happens in the system with very few automatism.
