I have a 120GB SSD 'system' drive and a 60GB SSD 'data' drive which I backup to a third (60GB SSD) internal drive frequently and also to two 500GB HDD external drives weekly, using FreeFileSync. I keep multiple FD-ISR archive backups and ShadowProtect image backups mainly on the 500GB externals which make it easy to keep one of the externals 'off premises'.
I just started using this one today My replacement for Cobian Backup... Auslogics BitReplica I have no schedule set, I initiate manual backups to my Western Digital 1TB Hard Drive. I only backup when my data changes. Works pretty good
External HDD as a general regular dump, then do selective backups from that to other medium less frequently or on special occasions.
Yes, but I still use a backup server or other internal hard drives as my primary backup destinations.
Yeah but it's only for essential / irreplaceable files: Business records, pictures, documents... of course now that's backed up in cloud as well so it's a little extra redundant. Still, old habits die hard. My system drive is backed up to another internal drive.
I tend to backup mostly installers (OS installers, drivers, apps, etc) on my external HDD. I usually backup documents via online storage such as Skydrive and SpiderOak.
I keep my system backup images on two separate hard drives in separate enclosures (Sans Digital TR4Us). Each TR4U holds full system backup images via Paragon and Macrium. Other external partitioned HDDs hold my software installer archive, various Windows and Linux operating system ISOs, security/rescue CD ISOs, personal documents, photos, MP3s, and movies. The personal documents are also backed up on CD/DVD and kept in a safe deposit box. Each TR4U has a complete set of archived files which are duplicated on the second TR4U. I also use flash drives for various purposes. Once the price of HDDs falls to an acceptable (for me) level, I plan to add a third TR4U into service.
I use external HDD (500 GB) for monthly backup of my system images, outlook database and personal data (pictures, documents...).
I purchased an external HDD (WD 1TB) specifically to backup my personal files and things i consider important. I have been relying on internal HDD's for backups but one of them is starting to give me troubles and it's better to be safe than sorry. HDD's are so damn cheap now that it's worth every single penny. (And it was even cheaper before the floods in Asia)
2 external HDDs. Both are used for whole disk images and 1 of them is used as well to backup my personal data such as my doc., pics etc. Flash Drives for a 2nd backup of all my personal data.
I just have one 2TB external usb hdd that i use to back up windows and data. My important data is backed up online and onto an SD card.
