All the time, or most of the time. I don't conduct critical work over it, nor do I connect a device that has been in contact with critical files to it.

I use it but I have all my important traffic encrypted by using an SSH-Tunnel for those programs (Browser, Mail, Communicators, etc).

I find this better than using a VPN which encrypt the traffic of my WHOLE system. Why would I encrypt the traffic of games? it only makes them slower ;P

There was this one time when I tried to connect to a public WiFi. I entered the password they provided, but then I could never log in to it. I kept being rejected. I don't believe they do whitelisting like MAC filtering or something like that. But if they did, then what's the point of having a publicly accessible WiFi? I think that's the only time I ever tried to connect to a public WiFi, never bothered to try it again afterwards.
