Actually after reading this, i Google'ed and searched in Wiki a bit and found out that indeed, some stats shows Chrome by more than 20%
Nah, I don’t think so. Ever since I’ve found out the way of google collects the users data I distanced myself from all of google products & services. Advertising I don’t really mind, them watching me every minute of me on the net that’s a bit too creepy for my taste.
Nope, after 19 releases I've come to my final conclusion that it will always be broken for me. Reliability beats security any day of the week.
Google Chrome is the Worst browser IMHO! Worst Interface Worst Bookmarks Manager Worst Download Manager Worst Options Menu Subpar Add-Ons The only good thing about Chrome is that it's fast but everything else sucks! Firefox For life!
I use a variant based on the Chromium code...Comodo Dragon. So, in a way I guess you can say that I use Chrome. Primary Browser: Comodo Dragon Secondary Browser: Maxthon In my opinion, the top browsers out there. Both extremely fast, reliable and secure.
Don't know if I agree. Reliability without security wouldn't be too good. I would say that the two need to go hand-in-hand... security along with reliability... and possibly, depending on the wants and needs of the individual user, small deviations from either one or the other is acceptable and can be tolerated. But as soon as the pendulum swings all the way in either direction, usability flies right out the door. Chrome's reliability suffers a tad for me with occasional 'Aw Snap!' crashes, the cause of which I cannot trace. But usually all it takes is running CCleaner and a reboot and everything is copacetic once again. The '3-S advantage' of Chrome (speed, simplicity and security) far outweigh the inconvenience of the random crashes... so I'm sticking with Chrome (and hoping that it is a problem tied to XP that will disappear when I get my new Win7 box!).
I wouldn't drop a browser simply for crashes, unless it was just an insane amount. But yes, reliability does beat out security. Who the hell cares if something is secure if you can't get it to work properly?
But consider the scenario I noted, dw... reliability without security wouldn't be too good. Or, put it another way, turn your question around... Who the hell cares if something is reliable if there is no security? I say they go hand-in-hand, and one doesn't necessarily beat the other. Not trying to change anybody's mind, just expressing my viewpoint.
By the way, 46% of the poll respondents say they use Chrome. That's more than I expected, given the number of other popular browsers there are. Clearly Wilders members do not reflect the general population.
Don't like google (same with Opera) with their spy tactics. I like Iron, no (spying) calling home. Any program that does this is off my list, and MS gets blocked automatically. So many programs are doing this now, because most people don't care. Give them an inch a they will take a mile! Just call me paranoid.
I didn't know Opera had any spyware, but you are quite right about Google. Only an idiot wouldn't be concerned about Google's practices these days. Iron's great ... when its not buggy. Of course, there are many who accuse SRWare of being a scam, even though they have no actual proof.
Maybe not spyware, but it always calls home even when set with none of the bells and whistles, such as phishing, email etc. With Iron I have never seen or had a bug that effected me. Have been using it for a year now. I don't use any extensions. Never seen it trying to make a call home, like Google Chrome, or Opera. Another reason I like Iron, it's not in the big leagues, and not a big target for the bad guys. Why do you say; "Only an idiot wouldn't be concerned about Google's practices these days"?
