Yes and know for me. My default browser, SeaMonkey's home page is on my computer with links to the sites I use most, such as Wilders, banks, et cetera.
I think OP means a file residing on your PC and not on the net. Like this example: Code: file:///D:/MyBackup/My_Stuff/Firefox%20data%20files/MyLinks.html would be what you'd see in the address bar when you load your homepage.
Yes. You can also see it, in Firefox, in the General tab accessed via Options/Preferences. I find it more convenient to have my own homepage.
Yes, depending on which computer I'm using (or portable version of Fx) I have either Start Page or DDG.
I always use the "New Tab" page on all my browsers. (Chrome and IE9, even though i don't use IE9 i still update it since the OS comes with it pre installed anyways and it comes handy sometimes)
My homepage is a page of links to the sites I use the most, arranged in 3 columns. It's the start page for all the browsers on each of my operating systems and the page that opens when I open a new tab. Code: file:///E:/My Documents/HOMEPAGE.HTM I started using this back in my dialup days as an additional means to detect malware that would wait for and connect out via the browser. Opening the local home page did not initiate the dialup connection. If the PC tried to dial out before I clicked on a link, it exposed the existence of the malware.
I use about:blank for both Firefox (default) and IE8 home pages, since they're ready to go a little sooner that way, not having to load anything extra. So voted no.
Yes. I wrote the page with Composer, put the links to sites I use most. It is a file on my computer. I believe My default browser, SeaMonkey's home page is on my computer with links to the sites I use most, such as Wilders, banks, et cetera. is clear.
I would love to use just plain Bing as my homepage but I like to see news and things like that every time I bring my browser up. I mean after all, that is how I knew Michael Jackson died! MSN is my homepage.
